following serious fire damage to 31160 the South Yorkshire depot resurrected and outshopped the Brush machine in November 1989 with a full repaint in the new image with RfD markings making it instantly unique

The former E6026 73120 73209 had test runs at the Great Central Railway in Leicestershire during 2014 pairing with some interesting traction. The paint had weathered well but by 2024 it was looking rather work worn and as such became the first 73 9 to re enter the paint shop, this time at Eastleigh and it received the slightly darker shade of blue which is used by GBRf
