A Samurai Iron Menpo (Half Mask), Edo Period, Japan c1615 - 1868 which appear to be forget-me-not'sEdo Period, Japan c1615 1868 (mask dating to 18th 19th Century) A well formed Iron Samurai half mask with a defined nose and pronounced chin; The interior red lacquered and exterior black lacquered; the three lame iron yodarekake (throat guard) laced with dark blue sugake odoshi. Measurements: 26cm x 18cm Condition: Original, with evident losses of lacquer to exterior and interior, scratches throughout. Sugake odoshi refurbished at a later date. Iron
